Do you know a community hero, like Sergeant Saemi Kitchens of Prince William County, Va., or Warren Gaskill, a recycling operator in Rockville, Md.? These dedicated public servants work with professional local government managers to keep your city, town or county running smoothly every day.
If you look around your community, you’ll find people using their talents each day to improve our quality of life. Some are in very public professions—like police officers or teachers. Others work behind the scenes to keep the roads maintained, collect recycling, beautify our parks and public spaces.
We are once again capturing profiles of these Community Heroes who work with professional city, town, and county managers to make Life, Well Run. But we need your help to find these heroes that deserve recognition.
Take just a few moments to nominate a Community Hero in your jurisdiction that helps create a Life, Well Run. This person is a member of the CAO’s staff or extended staff. He/She is a star performer, has a love for public service, and may have worked for local government for many, many years. Or he/she is a recent hire but has already made an impact. This person may:
- help highlight the success of the way your local government operates–effectively, efficiently, and ethically; or
- help highlight the success of a public/private partnership
